Rescue worker revives baby elephant with CPR after road accident

In a very dramatic scene, a Thai rescue worker has managed to bring back to life a baby elephant, after performing CPR manoeuvres on it. The little was laying lifeless in the middle of the road after a collision with a motorcycle. Thankfully, the odds turned into its favor after the efforts of a devoted rescuer.

The baby elephant was crossing a road with his family in the the southeastern province of Chanthaburi, Thailand, when the unfortunate accident happened. Though he was off duty, rescuer worker Mana Srivate rushed at the scene after getting the call. Even if he has been performing resuscitations for over two decades, he had never done it on an elephant. However, his determination saved the young calf’s life.

To make things even worst, the rescuer was even more under pressure as the rest of the herd wasn’t far away, so they could have come there any moment. Miraculously, after a dramatic rescue that last roughly ten minutes, the calf revived.

“It’s my instinct to save lives, but I was worried the whole time,” Mana told Reuters. “I can hear the mother and other elephants calling for the baby. “I assumed where an elephant heart would be located based on human theory and a video clip I saw online.”

Even though he came into senses, the baby elephant was taken to a vet center for some further investigations. It didn’t took too long until the little one recovered, so the rescue team have taken him back to the same place to find its family. Thankfully, soon as she heard its voice, the little one’s mum run towards it.

Mana’s incredible efforts was caught on camera by some locals and the footage immediately went viral. Thanks to this hero, the elephant calf got a second chance to life. Watch the dramatic moment in the video bellow!
